Who we are and what this policy covers
Probably Funding operates probablyfundings.com, a free service that connects consumers with participating lenders; this policy applies to information collected through the website, the request form and our communications with you.
Probably Funding is not a lender. When you submit a request, lenders and partners that receive your information handle it under their own privacy policies, which may differ from ours. We encourage you to read the privacy notice of any lender you work with. In this policy, "we," "us" and "our" mean Probably Funding, and "you" means any visitor or user of the site. By using the site, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the information you type into our forms, information generated automatically when you visit the site, and limited information from third parties that help us verify and route requests.
Information you provide
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
- Identity details: date of birth and, where a lender requires it, Social Security number or the last four digits of it.
- Financial details: requested loan amount and purpose, employment status, income, pay frequency, housing status and cost, estimated credit range, and bank account type and details where you choose to provide them.
- Communications: messages you send us by email, phone or mail, and survey or review responses.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser type, device type, operating system and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Pages viewed, links clicked, the page that referred you to us, time spent on pages and form interactions.
- Information collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies described below.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from identity-verification and fraud-prevention services, from advertising and analytics partners, and from lenders about the status of a request you submitted (for example, whether an offer was presented or a loan was funded).
How we use your information
We use your information to operate the matching service, send your request to lenders, communicate with you, prevent fraud, improve the site and meet legal obligations.
- To process your request and match it with lenders or partners whose criteria may fit.
- To verify your identity and help detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- To send service messages about your request and, where permitted, marketing emails, texts or calls about financial products. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
- To measure how the site performs, analyze trends and improve our content and forms.
- To comply with laws, regulations, legal process and requests from government authorities, and to enforce our terms of use.
How we share your information
When you submit a request, we share the information on your form with lenders and partners in our network so they can decide whether to make you an offer; we do not sell your information for money outside of that purpose.
- Lenders and lending partners. Your request details are shared with participating lenders, and in some cases with networks of lenders, who may contact you by email, phone or text about your request. Lenders may obtain your consumer credit report.
- Related-product partners. If a lender cannot make an offer, we may, with your consent, share your details with partners offering related products such as credit improvement or debt relief services.
- Service providers. We use vendors for hosting, email delivery, analytics, identity verification, call handling and customer support. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, or prevent fraud or harm.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Sharing your request with lenders in exchange for compensation may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some state privacy laws. You can exercise your right to opt out as described below; however, opting out may prevent us from matching your request with lenders.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels and similar tools to keep the site working, remember your progress on the form, measure traffic and show relevant advertising.
Essential cookies are needed for the form to function. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site. Advertising cookies and pixels, set by us or by third-party advertising partners, help us measure campaigns and may be used to show you ads on other sites. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and many browsers let you block or delete them. Blocking essential cookies may stop the form from working. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where state law requires it. We do not currently respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.
Data security and retention
We protect your information with administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Our forms use TLS encryption, access to personal data is limited to staff and vendors who need it, and sensitive fields are stored encrypted. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, to resolve disputes, and to meet legal, accounting and regulatory requirements, after which we delete or de-identify it. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing, ask lenders to stop contacting you, and control cookies at any time.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any marketing text.
- Calls: ask the caller to place you on their internal do-not-call list, or contact us.
- Lenders: contact each lender directly to limit their use of your information.
Your state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete and opt out of certain uses of your personal information.
These rights may include the right to:
- Know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipients.
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information where applicable.
- Appeal our decision on your request, where your state provides that right.
- Be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
California residents: In the preceding 12 months we collected the categories of information listed above, including identifiers, financial information, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation derived from IP address, and inferences. We disclosed these categories to lenders, lending partners, service providers and advertising partners for the purposes described in this policy. Some information we handle is also covered by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and state rights may not apply to that information. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

Children's privacy
The site is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect.
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and, where required, notify you by email or a notice on the site. Your continued use of the site after an update means the updated policy applies.
